SEEKING

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and technically skilled Revit CAD Draftsman to assist in the digital recreation and development of existing WestWind Homes floorplans using Autodesk Revit.
This freelance role involves converting existing floorplans into fully developed Revit model sets, including 3D modeling, accurate measurements, schedules, tables, and detailed annotations based on provided examples and specifications.
The selected candidate will work on a per-set basis and report directly to our Purchasing Assistant / CAD Estimator (RGV) for coordination, revisions, and approvals.

OBJECTIVES

The Revit CAD Draftsman will:
• Convert existing WestWind Homes floorplans into fully developed Revit model sets
• Build accurate 3D BIM models reflecting structural and architectural details
• Generate complete plan sheets including dimensions, schedules, legends, and construction tables
• Maintain consistency with WestWind Homes drafting standards and provided examples
• Ensure plans are ready for estimating, purchasing coordination, and construction reference
• Organize and manage digital files with clean naming conventions and version control

JOB DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES:

• Develop detailed residential plan sets in Autodesk Revit
• Create accurate 3D models including walls, doors, windows, roofs, ceilings, and elevations
• Input measurements and ensure dimensional precision
• Generate schedules (doors, windows, materials, finishes, etc.)
• Incorporate tables and details as required per provided template
• Coordinate revisions with Purchasing Assistant / CAD Estimator
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary WestWind Homes plan files
• Deliver completed sets within agreed deadlines
• Implement redlines and requested modifications efficiently

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit (Residential BIM experience required)
• Strong understanding of residential construction methods
• Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and engineering details
• Knowledge of dimensioning standards and construction documentation
• Experience creating schedules and parametric families preferred
• Strong organizational skills and digital file management
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Prolonged periods of sitting and computer-based drafting
• Ability to review large-format drawings digitally
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
